First night of the transfer, dinner with the Romigs! |
We went to a special Family History Training in Leiden on Thursday morning and I am full of the Spirit of Elijah. It is so incredible to discover and feel connected to our ancestors. I am excited to help investigators and recent converts to experience that joy for themselves. There is so much work of salvation to be done for both the living and the dead, and it is such a blessing to participate.
In other random news, because we are so North here, it is light for a long time. For example, it is already super bright when we wake up at 6:30 am, and it is starting to stay light even until 10:30 when we go to bed. Craziness! on the other hand, it is June, and still really chilly. Go figure. #nederland
Other funny stories: I have seen multiple times a guy, in a wetsuit, carrying a surfboard- riding a bike through the middle of the city. No joke. The casual nederlander can do whatever he feels like while riding a bike...
Sister Hopkin and I had a cool insight during companionship study. Eternal punishment as spoken of in the scriptures doesn't actually mean punishment forever, but rather punishment from a being who is Eternal, God. We always make the distinction between immortality and eternal life, and that's because Eternal life is literally life with Eternal- Living forever with God. We thought that was pretty fascinating!
